A Komodo 3D2N itinerary is closer to 50 hours than three full days. Published samples sail on the morning of day one, put the Padar sunrise and Pink Beach on day two, and reach Labuan Bajo again around midday on day three. Day two carries the most walking, and day three is little more than a morning.
What does day one of a Komodo 3D2N itinerary usually hold?
A morning at the harbour, then a run of stops until dark. Start times are not standard. Seek Sophie, a booking platform, describes hotel pickup at 9am and sailing at 10am. Labuan Bajo Tourism, an operator, gives pickup at 08:30. Green Rinjani, another operator, gives pickup between 09:30 and 10:30. Whichever you are quoted, assume the first hour goes on transfers and boarding rather than on the sea.
Labuan Bajo Tourism publishes the fullest first day of the samples compared here: Sebayur or Siaba, then Taka Makassar, then Manta Point, then Padar or Kalong. That is four stops from a morning departure, so none of them can be long. Lonely Planet says a three-day, two-night liveaboard takes in the day-tour highlights and adds Siaba, Kalong and Bidadari. Those are Lonely Planet's names, so check them against the programme you are offered.
| Day | Labuan Bajo Tourism (operator) | Seek Sophie (booking platform) |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Pickup 08:30. Sebayur or Siaba, Taka Makassar, Manta Point, Padar or Kalong | Pickup 9am, sailing 10am |
| Day 2 | Padar sunrise, Pink Beach, Loh Liang, Pengah | Sunrise Padar hike, Pink Beach, dragons, Kalong bats |
| Day 3 | Kelor, Manjarite, then harbour between 11:00 and 12:00 | Kelor hike, then back late morning or early afternoon |
These are samples from two publishers and not a trip this site sells. Stop order can differ a good deal between boats, which is the subject of the Komodo 3D2N route comparison.
What does day two usually hold?
This is the long one. Both samples open with the Padar sunrise, and both then go to Pink Beach before moving on to the dragons. Published times for the Padar climb do not agree. Lonely Planet calls it a steep 15 minutes to the highest viewpoint. Seek Sophie says about 45 minutes. Labuan Bajo Tourism says 30 to 45 minutes on 838 steps. If you are not a fast walker, plan on the slower figures. The Padar sunrise guide covers the timing and steps in more detail.
Lonely Planet says sleeping in the park lets visitors reach Padar before crowds and Komodo earlier in the day. That advantage only holds if the boat has actually moved into position the evening before, so it is fair to ask where it anchors on night one.
The dragon stop depends on the boat. Seek Sophie says itineraries visit either Komodo Island or Rinca Island, and Labuan Bajo Tourism names Loh Liang, on its own schedule. Lonely Planet says walks on Komodo come in three lengths: 1.5 km, 2 km and 4 km. A 4 km walk after a sunrise climb is a very different day from a 1.5 km one, and a schedule with a stop still to come after the dragons may not leave room for the longer route. The day then ends at Kalong for the bats in Seek Sophie's version, or at Pengah in Labuan Bajo Tourism's.
What does day three usually hold?
One or two stops and the trip home. Both samples use Kelor, and Seek Sophie describes it as a hike, so expect one more walk before the boat turns back. Labuan Bajo Tourism adds Manjarite. After that the only thing left is the harbour, and return times are where the published plans differ most usefully:
| Publisher | Pickup, day one | Back at harbour, day three |
|---|---|---|
| Labuan Bajo Tourism (operator) | 08:30 | 11:00 to 12:00 |
| Green Rinjani (operator) | 09:30 to 10:30 | 12:00 to 13:00 |
| Seek Sophie (booking platform) | 9am, sailing 10am | Late morning or early afternoon |
| Longlasting Trip (Viator supplier) | Not stated here | 11:00 to 13:00 |
Run the arithmetic on any one operator's times and you get roughly 50 hours from pickup to harbour. That is the honest size of a 3 day Komodo itinerary, and it explains why flights and hotels on either side matter as much as the stops. Planning the days around the boat deals with that side of the trip.
What happens at Kalong at sunset?
Several programmes end a day here to watch the bats. Free Two Roam describes thousands of flying foxes leaving the mangroves at sunset, with boats gathered to wait for them. Salam Ransel, an operator, describes the same scene and adds that drones and fireworks are not allowed at Kalong. The day moves between sellers: Seek Sophie puts Kalong on day two, Green Rinjani on day one, and Labuan Bajo Tourism lists Padar or Kalong on day one. Green Rinjani also lists a tentative Kalong sunset fee as an exclusion, so ask whether it is inside your price. The park protocol bars loud noise in flying fox habitat.
How much of each day goes to sailing?
Sailing hours leg by leg are the number you most need, and these samples leave them out, so ask. Wikivoyage advises comparing time at each stop, sailing hours and rest rather than counting islands, and it warns that a longer trip is not necessarily a slower one. Counting Labuan Bajo Tourism's stops gives ten across about 50 hours, with two nights inside that. A list of ten tells you nothing about whether you get an hour on each or twenty minutes.
Night movement may also shape the plan. An Antara report from January 2026 says the harbourmaster barred vessels from moving at night in park waters, naming the Padar Strait among the risk points, and said three-day, two-night packages could carry on under that limit. We cannot say whether it still applies, so ask. Where it does, a boat has to finish the day's sailing by dusk and cannot make up lost time overnight.
Five questions get closer to the real pace than any stop list:
- What time does the boat reach its anchorage on night one, and where is it?
- What is the longest sailing leg on each day?
- How long is planned at each stop?
- Komodo or Rinca, and which walk length does the schedule allow?
- What time do guests normally step off on day three?
New to the format? Our Komodo 3D2N overview explains what the label covers before you compare days.
Which stops get cut first when time runs short?
No publisher ranks this, so what follows is a reading of the schedules rather than a rule. Two points in the plan are hard to move: the Padar sunrise, because the light does not wait, and the day-three return, because guests have flights. Delay therefore lands on whatever sits between them.
The published alternatives give the first clue. Labuan Bajo Tourism writes "Sebayur or Siaba" and "Padar or Kalong", and Seek Sophie writes Komodo or Rinca. Those stops are already presented as swappable. Manjarite appears on one sample's third day and not on the other's, which suggests the morning of day three has little slack. A late-afternoon stop on day two is also exposed, since it follows the longest stretch of activity.
Sea conditions and park sessions can change any of this on the day, and no operator can promise a particular stop. If one place is the reason you are going, say so before you pay and ask in writing what happens if it is dropped. If you are still weighing up the length of the trip, see whether 3 days is enough for Komodo. Before you commit, compare the Komodo 3D2N boat on offer, read what the Komodo 3D2N cost covers, decide on a Komodo open trip 3D2N or a private boat, and run the Komodo 3D2N booking checklist.
What do people ask about a 3 day Komodo itinerary?
What fits in a Komodo 3D2N?
On the samples from Labuan Bajo Tourism and Seek Sophie: a morning departure and several snorkel or island stops, then the Padar sunrise, Pink Beach and a dragon walk on the second day, then Kelor before returning. Expect close to ten stops, with time at each one rarely published.
What time does a 3D2N start?
It depends on the seller. Labuan Bajo Tourism gives pickup at 08:30, Seek Sophie gives pickup at 9am and sailing at 10am, and Green Rinjani gives pickup between 09:30 and 10:30. Your own confirmation is the only time that counts.
What time does a 3D2N return?
Labuan Bajo Tourism says 11:00 to 12:00. Green Rinjani says 12:00 to 13:00. A Viator supplier, Longlasting Trip, says 11:00 to 13:00, and Seek Sophie says late morning or early afternoon. These are the sellers' own figures and not fixed arrival times.
What does day 1 of a Komodo 3D2N look like?
Transfers and boarding take the start of the morning, then sailing and stops until evening. Labuan Bajo Tourism lists Sebayur or Siaba, Taka Makassar, Manta Point, and Padar or Kalong, in that order.
What does day 3 of a Komodo 3D2N look like?
It is short. Seek Sophie describes a Kelor hike and Labuan Bajo Tourism lists Kelor and Manjarite, followed by the run back to the harbour around midday.
Is this an itinerary I can book?
No. It compares what other publishers have written. A boat, date or stop list only exists for you once a seller puts it in writing.

How do I reach the desk?
Send the itinerary you have been quoted, or just your dates, on WhatsApp +62 811-3823-875 or email the desk. The desk can answer general questions and say what published sources state. For a specific boat, the seller's written answer is what counts. Nothing it says fixes a boat or a schedule, and a written offer states only the plan.
Send the desk your dates, group size, and boat preference. The desk replies in writing.
